View Full Version : New requests, old requests

some old ones first:
-edges and ngons
-rotation constraint via ctrl-key, like in modeler, to rotate objects in steps
-softlights for any light
-normal mapping/shaders realtime display
-modern spline editing system
-"claylike" modeling tools, that let me define a shape and use it as a modeling tool
(like using Your knuckles on real clay)

new ones:
-make any viewport in modeler rotatable around the viewing axis, makes aligning
elements easier (every illustrator is used to rotate the canvas he's drawing on, as You can in Painter)
-more versatile layer options/layer managing
-unlimited, dockable viewports ( a la modo)
-bone shapes (stick, classic, box, fins... a la Max)
-basic 3D painting

Good requests...

Some of the "new" ones have already been requested though.

There is a very good free 3D painting plugin for LightWave called UVChalk. Make sure you read the manual first since you will probably not know how to do things without it. It's full of shortcuts and all.

And as for bone shapes... well... box bone shape is really cool! :)

My main feature request is don't add another feature until you make your existing ones rock solid and compatible with eachother. How about faster rendering? How about faster Open GL? How about dynamics without having to hit the calculate button? How about improving the SDK so plugins can have access to all of LW - so we can use FPrime to render Sasquatch hair and Hypervoxels?

Once you have made all the features you allready have rock solid, and LW doesn't crash, then lets talk about future features.
