I'm getting an error Ordinal 12 and also 42 in VT EDitor
related to this mcmpgdec.dll.

Search: 3 files found...

Name In Folder Size Type Modified
MCMpgDec.dll C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\MPEG 528 KB 8/4/2003 5:18 PM

mcmpgdec.dll C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\File Formats\MCMPEG 529 KB 4/29/2003 12:50 PM

mcmpgdec.dll C:\Program Files\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\File Formats\MCMPEG 507 KB 10/22/2003 3:16 PM

is one the right one? or where should it be located for minimal trouble?

Vegas5 and Sound Forge are on it too. A clue? And DVD Workshop2 SE
The system had VT3 and was upgraded to VT4SP1 a cou[le of weeks ago. This error has been popping up waaaay too often. Can be cleared and more work done, BUT every session in the Editor is hassled with this "error" which appears to hame nothing, BUT IS A ROYAL PAIN IN THE BEEZER.

What is the fix?

Don No theories please...

The three programs install different versions of the same file, making two of them, and most importantly, the VT3/4 inoperable. Delete Ulead, and the others, re-install them one at a time to find the problem. You'll have to live without that program or upgrade to get the current version.

What I did was rename the file in Ulead to BAD, then copied and pasted the Sonic Foundry file into Ulead. Voila, the ordinal 12 error no longer came up and mpeg2 plays back fine.
