Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but there goes anyway.

I currently use Maya - but I now find it too"heavy" for my needs. Way too much to learn.

I have a friend who gave me a look at an old version of Lightwave (6 I think) some time back (but I had invested a fair amount of time on Maya at that time) - It looked loads easier to use, so I now want to give it a serious try.

Does Newtek have a "Personal Learning Edition" for LW 8.0 or preferably 8.2 available?

I'd prefer 8.2 as I understand a lot of bugs have been resolved and the render engine has been improved.

I would prefer to obtain a "legitimate" copy to try out on. Can anyone please assist?

Ps I'm in Australia, so I can FTP if needed??

Thank-you.

Unfortunately, no. But you can get 7.5d, which is still quite good and will give you a feel for the interface. Here is a link:
