View Full Version : getting a grid of fine lines in lightwave

I'm wondering if there's some way of getting a grid of very fine lines in lightwave, ones that you could actually get quite close to with a camera and fly around.

Just, you know that sort of "hi tech" 3d grid environment type thing.

you can use the procedual GRID texture for the surface, or you can, if you have the mesh detail for it, use render outlines in the surfaces or use the render edge options in the object panels.

thanks- but i dont actually have an object that i want to display the mesh of- all i want is the actual lines themselves- i want to fly through a network of geometric lines, kinda like this image

Than 2-point polygones are your friend. I'm not sure though how to make them in such an "organized" way.

thanks ingo- that's exactly what i needed- just made a 2 pt poly & used the clone tool to duplicate it into a grid, & used the line thickness in layout to adjust thickness- exactly what im after! thanks!

Maybe this recent spinquad thread will help you somewhat to achieve what you want:
