Hi guys.
Does any one know of a way to create wrinkles, I mean to create them with polygons directly on to the surface instead of using UV maps.

Does any one know how this is done, maybe a tutorial or a plugin?

Thanks

JM

I just use maps... but I guess that you could do it by just adding more polys in the forehead, etc. and keep them in the exact spot in the line with the rest of the head until you move the character so that the wrinkles show... sounds like a lot of work, but could give realistic results if done correctly.

if you have LW8 than select the point you want to expand and hit Ctrl-b and mess around with the points. Does a great job, and no plug-in neede

I tend to use a combination of the cut tool and FIs wrinkle.
wrinkle works on edges and the cut tool can be used to create an edge
thru a range of selected polys. Its important to have good flow because wrinkles and similar details tend to follow that flow.
Heres a head with the basic flow going the way I wanted.
The 2nd head is using the tools I mentioned to create the wrinkles.
