I own a registered copy of LW 8, and have been registered all the way back to v 6.0. Prior to that, I was the proud owner of Inspire 1.0.

I now have a budding 3D artist at work that wants to work w/ LW at home but can't afford the high(to him) full price tag for LW...

I'm wondering...

Does NewTek still produce Inspire?
If not, it might be a good way to introduce our favorite program's basics to the great masses out there...and make it more affordable in the process...

Thanks in advance guys.... :p

Nope, Inspire is no more, but a copy could probably be found if you look hard enough. Personally, I would have him look for a used copy of LightWave, he could probably get a copy for $600, maybe less.

LightWave 3D 8.0 Education Version LW8.0EFM $349.00
3D GARAGE 8.0 Signature Courseware - DVD-ROM MacPC $289.00

I don't know if there is any restrictions but you have to have training from some major source. I've thought few times did I pay too much.

Good point, Noratio. I know that Larry Shultz' training course counts towards purchasing an educational license, I'm sure most of these others do to.
