New Zealand LW user group
Kiwavers ('Kee-wavers')

What are we about:
The LWUG is a place where anyone, commercial user to general hobbyist, can come and chat about LW and 3D with other people. We offer monthly tutorials, demos of plugins, tips, tricks, a place to ask questions and get free support for LightWave and your 3D art. We have an open forum where we encourage users to bring along projects, art, animations to show, get critique on, or ask how to solve problems. Anyone is welcome to present a tutorial, or material they think would be of interest to other users.

Nobody is required to be a top-level artist, or forced to stand in front of a group of strangers and talk. The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxed...

The group 'officially' started in 1999, died for a year, resurrected itself in 2000 and has been pretty stable since then... We're on a roll, and we're not looking like we're gonna stop anytime soon!

FREE - No cost at this stage to come to meetings, and you even get munchies (chips, cookies, drinks, muffins, occasionall Dunkin' Donuts!). You can read about what happens online at the web site.

Meetings are usually held at 1 Wakefield Street, Auckland. AUT's Faculty of Arts building, Level 13, room 1307.

Once a month (or more if we needed to), usually a week day and usually from 5:45-6:00pm to around 9:00-11:00pm. Meeting dates are fairly random (but we're trying to keep them close to the third wednesday of each month if possible) and are announced on the Kiwavers mailing list, so sign up and keep in touch with the ins and outs of the group!
