Its the next best thing if real 3d-painting is to hard to implement.
Max has that, Maya has that, I want that, too.

" DESCRIPTION : ATR is a connection between Maya and Adobe Photoshop. It allows you to paint a texture in Photoshop and a have a quasi realtime feedback in your Maya OpenGL viewport or IPR window.
You can paint any channel such as color, bump or specular and view the result in an IPR window for example.
By this way, you can see the result of your texture painting directly on your objects."

You could also use ut as an export componets plug which would give you unlimited control of your rendered file. Imagine all the lights in your scene neatly stacked on layers inside folders with respective channels inside them.:rolleyes:
