View Full Version : Modeling cushions and pillows?

anyone have any words to share on the modeling of pillows and cushions?

I'm going for a modern sort of sofa, and guess I'd like to give some rounded fullness to the sides, and some kind of (quality) to the tops, showing that they're soft and have supported a few sets of buns...

any tutorials out there? I searched but didn't find any.

thank you..

I've got one here in an old Newtek Pro magazine on modeling cushions that is pretty good. They just used subpatch objects for the cusions and used bones to deform them. That probably doesn't help you too much though. I should scan it and post it but there is that whole copyright thing. Although, after the way they screwed us out of our subscriptions, I shoudln't care that much.

I would think though it would be pretty easy to model what you're describing using subpatch geometry as it lends itself to soft objects fairly easily.
