View Full Version : Need help in surfacing a distorted object

I need to apply a craters texture over an Asteroid, without distortion.

The asteroid is basically a heavy distorted sphere.

Since I'm UV mapping dumb (lot's of UV mapping test, all failed, I probably miss something...) I've setup a two object scene, a starting sphere (the spherized asteroid) and the target asteroid. In this manner the texture is preserved, no distortion of any kind.

Now I wonder if there is some way to save the morphed sphere object and/or the texture map for later loading it without the two object morph setup.

Any way to export the distorted texture ?

And last...

Is this method Ok for resolving the texture distortion when playing with irregular object ?
