Hi there,

These HDRI's are indeed very expensive, but they look cool....

... I wonder if I could make one of those.. Mmmmmm... using photoshop to make the different poses, then combining them in Hdrshop... I'll give it a shot.... :D

Actually, you can make these quite simple yourself...
Download Eki's plugpak (use RefGen) and render out a scene of softboxes with very high luminosity to a HDR image and done...

Put them on a DVD and start selling...

example (took me about 15 minutes to make, and that includes the rendering time, that also explains the very grainy MC GI render)

Yes, they are a rip-off.

Didn't think of that Red_Oddity. That's probably how they made the abstracts.

Yeah they are too expensive I wouldn't buy them but they do look nice. ;)

they are ripp off, but in favor of them... it is not the same thing... the spheron cam captured much more infos than just white boxes...

but you render does look nice nice ! ;)

well, yeah, i didn't tweak everything to look completely right, but it is possible...
Heck, you don't even need to create a HDRI image with this, just place the softboxes in your scene you want to render and set their render flags to 'Unseen by Camera'...
Use a nice texture on the softbox for that added 'realism' and done...
