They're not LW-related, but...

Picked up The Art of HALO: Creating a Virtual World (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345475860/qid=1101390115/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/103-8698046-9847819?v=glance&s=books) yesterday.

A good read if you're interested in concept design, game design, or 3D game art.

Haven't bought it yet, but there's also a very nice hardback book of the art of Half-Life 2 called Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0761543643/qid=1101390173/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-8698046-9847819?v=glance&s=books) available.

i think i one of my friend was working on this game i must ask him about this book. If this book is good and there is lot stuff about concept art i think i will buy it.
Kurtis can you write me what usefull information i can find in this book ??

HALO book:

Tons of concept artwork, both 2D and 3D, from both games.
Interviews with people at Bungie.
Some information about techniques used in Modeling and Animation.
Infomation is broken out about characters, vehicles, weapons, and environments

Just quickly flipped through the Half-Life 2 book, but its about twice the size and hardback.

As a follow-up, the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Limited Edition Strategy Guide (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0744004764/qid=1101752148/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-3527487-7736659?v=glance&s=books) comes with an Art Of book for the MGS2 remake for the Gamecube, Twin Snakes.
