I want to model a plastic bucket full of ball bearings:

I really don't want to try to place every single ball bearing in the box manually. Is there a way to "fill" it with my ball bearing model then delete the ones that can't be seen?

you need to do this in layout with hard body dynamics.

One way you could do it is create one ball, use the array tool to create the first layer, this will be your X and Z values. Create another array, while it is selected, offset it to one side. Now you can select both arrays, and create a new array for the height.
