I'm working on a heavy projects with 3.1 millions polygons and 6 spotlights at 1024.. (there are total 985 objects with lots of cars and trees)
I'm rendering at 864*486 and all of this takes some memory...
I also use medium resolutions textures 8bit tif mostly.

when this scene is loaded in layout, and I try to render F9, it
will render everything BUT not one of the bigest map I use...it will just
ignore it like it forgot to load it...
(the map is 1500*2000 which is not much)

but If I render with screamnet when the scene is NOT loaded in layout, it will render everything fine..

And If I render with screamnet when the scene IS loaded in layout, it will render fine too.....
so it seems it's not a memory problem with screamnet but with LW8 layout only..

is there a fix or is it going to be fix?

the main thing that I don't want is to have this huge project and that when I render the final animation half of my textures are missing, that would be a nightmare especially with this short deadline...

have u tried another file extension like tga or jpg?
maybe the tiff file couses trouble?

yes I tried, the file format is not an issue...

a while ago, I was working on a project using a High rez satellite photo,
8000*8000 pixel in jpg (so 24bits) and it would take a lot of memory
of course and it would not render with a computer with 1 gb of ram..
so I converted them in tif 8bit and separated the picture in 4 part of 4000*4000...
and it worked...

but now the problem I'm having doesn't seem to be a memory problem...
(at least with screamer because it works fine there)

screamernet work in different kind respect layout, it not cache images in same way, not build opengl preview images, and more.

if you reduce in camera segment memory limits you can render also with low ram.
if you render with limited region remember that lw build its buffer with full Horizontal size of final images.
i don't know if for 8 new greats developer have found a way to change that, but until lw7.5c it's true.
in lw8 i not founded difference for big render, i just rendered a big animation, over 5.000.000 of poly, and that solve most of my problems.
good luck.
