Hi

I want to buy a pair of ide to scsi adapters to use ide drives instead of my dying scsi drives on my flyer... does anyone knows wich brand / model of adapter and wich model of hard drive works best?

Thanks in advance

Alex

With the price of SCSI I would stay with SCSI rather than using an IDE adapter. I tried the IDE adapters and had little success. All seemed to be going ok at first, the size of the drives seemed right, they formated, etc., but ultimately there were errors and files went missing mysteriously. I don't recall all of the problems but there were enough for it not to be worth the trouble.

Almost any SCSI drive should work. I got a 36 gig Maxtor. You will need to convert the 80 pin to SCSI2 and I would put the 80 pin drive as the last drive on the chain and set the termination on the drive itself if possible.
