is there a way to exclude a surface from a light ,as in one of three lights does not see a surface ? scott

I know you can exclude lights with the BRDF shader - but I forget if you're excluding the surface or just the shader, and you'll get a different look ...

Might be easier to break out that surface to a separate object -

you can definatly exclude an object from specific lights, so you could cut said surface into it's own object layer, and do it that way...
