View Full Version : Poser 5 and exporting to Lightwave- I Need Help!!

So I export from Poser 5 as a Lightwave object file. I open the .lwo file in lightwave and i have funky geometry, no textures, and dynamic hair is made up of points that do not render.

Can I export textures from Poser 5 as UV or anything that would be useful in LW?
Is hair able to be converted back into rope polys, and textured?
I can work with fixing the geometry, but is there an easier way?
What is the best solution to bringing Poser characters into Lightwave?????

Tell me something I haven't tried yet.
Thank you

Most maps in poser are uv maps. So using 3ds, lwo, obj will provide surface names for you to use. You can just apply the correct map to the correct surface. The problem with this is when you have large number of surface names to change.

Check out this site:
It has a tutorial on how to bring your poser characters to lightwave, it's written for lightwave 6.5 & poser 4 but will work fine with newer versions (only check the tools' names).
