View Full Version : My First face mesh

Hi Everyone,

This is my first face mesh in Lightwave. I'd like to get some feedback from the more experienced users on things I can do to improve it. I've circled a few areas that I see as trouble spots, there may be others that I'm not aware of. I created the face before I found out about the "spin quads" command, so there's most likely some misaligned polys.

I'd like to animate this face, so I needs suggestions for the mouth creases and eye lids. Also, I'm struggling with getting the area around the nose nice and tight.

Thanks in advance

Check out this site, there are some images of poly flow. http://www.puffandlarkin.com/lightwave/tutorials/character_modelling/
Also I think Splinegod has some flow video's on his site. http://www.3dtrainingonline.com/support/ and you may even find some tutorials on this site. http://www.3dtrainingonline.com/support/

Over all though, I do like the head. I can see some poly flow problems, but I think the images on puff and larkin's web site should help there. Looking to seeing more of this character. Good Luck

There is a tutorial on the LW site by DeltaUser that I watched a million times or so and then set out to build my first head. It's posted at http://www.sjon.org/Lightwave/index.htm . I would love to get some feedback on it and the hand I modeled (on the same site).
