A real beauty !
The front is just perfect!

On my model there are 3 holes on the short side next to the button "7"; http://www.nokia.se/phones/3310/pics/3310_new.jpg
also the bottom left and right corners have cutouts (in your version corners are smooth).

very nice model. Could you post some wires?
Is it all sub-patch?

Nice,
The only thing I would say is I'd expect some sort of glare of the clear plasic covering the screen. (or have you paid out for the anit-glare cover ;) ).

Newbie dumb question: How can it be all subpatch if there are so many 0, 1, 2 and >4 point polygons?

etobiason

There's no such thing as a 0 point polygon! Those are point statistics you're looking at. There are points in the scene attached to no polys.

Of course, i must delete unconnected points to make model crystal clear. But, in this case, it's not important.

Yes, the bigger part of modelling process was made in Modo. But texturing and rendering was made in LightWave 3D.

Stunning work Trilobyte ;)

Sorry, just a little OT question... I've been told that modo has support for n-gons, so I was wondering what happens if you import a subpatched model made of n-gons in LW8? that may be a stupid question, but I've been told there were some news about n-gons in LW8 SDK

Weetos

Modo use n-gons, but i don't use :)

Object with n-gons is not imported in LW correctly. Result looks like you made model vith n-gons in Modeller and try to convert it to subpatch mode. Holes over all object. :)

Sorry for my poor english... :(

Awsome model man! Seen this over at cgtalk. Nice, clean mesh.

Thanks for showing. :)

When you import a mesh with ngons, they may just render out as a black poly or even just missing...always best to tripple ngons before import.

Cheers.

Five, huh? OK, let's see: One for the main body of the phone. One for the buttons. One for the display. So what are in the other two layers?

Can i ask a question about the actual LCD display? How did you get the image to look so like how an old LCD display? Did you paint each pixel by hand? which is waht i have done in the past, or did you use some sort of filter within Photoshop or something?

I'm just interested because i took AGES once painted one pixel by pixel, and never want to do it again. (Looks embarrassed coz there's sure to be an easier way) I also strained my eyes trying to count the pixels across and down etc. DOH
