i'm trying to make a straight rail curve.
I just want a disc to rail extrude from one point to another and not curve smoothly to each change.
am i making any sense?

I am not sure if this is what you mean, but have you tried un-checking the "oriented" option in the rail extrude menu?

I think he means that instead of the curve being smooth, they should be straight lines between each node.
This is a limitation with extrude at the moment and there are many, (me included), that would like this feature.

Bur for the staright , you have to use the last disc extruded each time and somehow re-manual orienting it.... hope this help ! :D
