Hi there xperts!

How does one go about to render out multiple passes from LW 8?

The purpose of this being to more easily work with the 3d-elements in a video comp later on.

So far I have not seen any utility or technique that would take care of this workflow.

I regard myself as being somewhere between a beginner and intermediate user.

Platform: Mac OSX
Appīs: LW8/Combustion/(AfterEffects)

Any thoughts appreciated!

Like you would in any 3d program, by saving out multiple scenes (with the right objects and settings turned on/off) for each pass.

Oh, and this might help :

Hi norlight,
Carn't you use AE to animate PSD layers? If so just use the
CTRL F8
and add "PSD export" in the image filters and choose what layers you want.

In the video tuts on this web site there is actually a flow shown for working with these layers in DFX (may be of not much use to you) but it will give you an idea of what layer goes where before you start animating them in AE to get the blend right. ;)

Hi ballarma!

Very sorry for late reply. Been away for some time...

I really appreciate the tips on psd-layers, Iīll definitely add that to my trick-bag!
