Looks interesting, but I'm not sure about the price. I think I'd rather spend the cash on upgrading to Lightwave 8. :)

Great pix from the Maxwell renderer, but they don't seem to be aiming this one at the masses. I understand it's only got a command-line interface, which would scare most people away.

Are there some rendering features that LW8 has that LW7 doesn't?

Not Sure. But I'm still using 7.5d and I'm very happy with Lightwaves rendering capabilities! :)

I asked them and they said LightWave in a 2-months range. Some impressive technlogy, no indication about render times on the site. But the images are really good-looking. Very interesting to read about how their algorithms work. Don't know if it's worth the price, but if you haven't checked out the site it is pretty interesting nonetheless.
