Here is nice tool from Fi.
http://cgi.f23.aaacafe.ne.jp/~fisjunk/plugin/plugin.php?id=40&p=7&c=3&t=Modeler&v=7#f

I'm still not sure about all of the functions but here is what I've figured out.

LMB Drag = Paint
RMB Drag = Erase
CTRL+RMB = ? Draws in grey,... not sure about this one
Shift+LMB = Draws a straight Line with each LMB click
CTRL+Shift+RMB = Draws a straight Line with each RMB click in Grey...?

ALT+LMB/RMB = Orbit/Spin
ALT+SHIFT+LMB = Pan
ALT+SHIFT+RMB = Zoom

Doesn't work on SubD's. You must have a UV texture applied and image applied before starting the plug. You must select the polys you want to paint as well.
I made an image in Photoshop First (800x800) then loaded it as the UV image map. I don't know if there is a limit to what rez you can use.

from a dirt and ugly traduction in Babel Fish:
... CTRL+RMB = alpha channel eraser ...

A couple of questions -

- Does it work with low poly?
- Can you do as detailed a skin as you might the 'other' way?
- Does it work with a tablet and stylus?
- How does it compare to bodypaint 3d?
- Does it work for mac as well?

A couple of questions -

- Does it work with low poly? Yes
- Can you do as detailed a skin as you might the 'other' way? No
- Does it work with a tablet and stylus? Yes
- How does it compare to bodypaint 3d? Pretty poor,.. but it's free and runs in LW
- Does it work for mac as well? Not yet

Well i'm impressed. It's not bodypaint paint system but the view control much are niceer and much faster. I thought the orbit control was bad, but just use alt+RMB control view orbit rotation. That makes it much better. If they can improve the brushes this will be really great. As it is, it will be exstreamly usefull.

Well i'm even more impressed now. I notice the opengl speed was fast so i decided to push it. At 1 Million polys I stoped and it was still working in realtime.

Well it needs a lot of work, but this is impressive! He's only at version 0.1.3 but is this what we've been waiting for?

Very nice :)

A million polys? You complete nutter! :) That is VERY impressive, NT hire this guy! LOL Thought I'd say it before someone else did :)

Jeez with all his plugins you'd think he was working for them already :)

Pretty nice little plugin.
It isn't really good for making the final texture, but great for marking out where to draw what. Though this obviously doesn't match up with other big paint apps, it's a very good start and could be improved. But it's only version 0.3.1 as said earlier... :)

hi
just downloaded it and got it up n running...not crashed so it looks prety stable so far...

okay it's pretty basic currently but the potential is huge!
even now it's pretty good for some basic paint tagging on a 3d model

..it just wigged out lw when i smooth shifted some polys then went to paint...
maybe needed a new uv map?

interesting plugin....newtek shold look at it...

This is def a big plus for LW,.. esp. if it evolves quickly. More Painting tools please! A color picker and airbrush would be great.

Here is a test with a 2000x2000 color map.

Here`s the Babelfish translation:-

It is super abridged edition plug in of the generally known 3D paint.
It corresponds to only ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION mapping.
Note 1: It cannot handle the sub patch directly. After freezing (triangle) doing polygon formation type at number of partitions at the time in rendering, please apply.
Note 2: The picture which it retains unless image is renewed by hand, is not reflected on the modeller.
Note 3: There are times when file classification does not agree to original type. (Presence of especially alpha) please pay attention.
Note 4: The maximum picture size which it can handle is to 2048x2048. When it is larger than that, reducing below maximum size, it compiles.
Note 5: Unless it is display environment above the 24bit color, it does not operate.

* Basic mouse operation
LMB Drag: The line is pulled.
CTRL+LMB Drag: The line where the contour becomes blurred is pulled.
RMB Drag: It is the eraser.
CTRL+RMB Drag: It is the alpha channel eraser.

These can do rectilinear drawing with SHIFT combined use click.

ALT+CTRL+SHIFT LMB: The texture color is picked.

* Buffer operation key
Image a time retention/it returns.
Eraser function has returned the image of the temporary retention buffer partly.
C: Image is retained in the temporary retention buffer.
X: Image it returns from the temporary retention buffer.
Z: Undo (only one time validity)

* Picture indication operation
ALT+LMB/RMB: Object revolution
ALT+SHIFT+LMB: Object movement
ALT+SHIFT+RMB: Zoom

This is the kind of mapping I like to use when tanning. :)

I've used it. It works well on my laptop with an ATI Radeon Video card,... but it has fits on my dual display workstation with an nvidia card. Def. has more features than Fi's for now.

Here is another,.. but I've not tried it:

Wow, this was one bad little 3d painter. Realtime alpha/clipmap painting (CTRL+RMB) is pretty neat (Actually it's not 100% realtime for me. I have to force update by moving the view/camera; This was also on laptop with radeon). Something simular in the main interface would be really sweet. Props to FI!

There is a small update to Fi's UV Chalk. I'm not sure if it adds features or if it is just fixing bugs.

CTRL+LMB Drag: The line where the contour becomes blurred is pulled.

This seems to work like an airbrush tool
