Hi,

I have a .lws scene file with more than 1000 objects. Apparently, LW taking a lot of time reading it.

To solve the problem, I experiemnted and found that as you increase the number of objects beyond 1000, the loading time is increasing exponentially.

A scene with 2000 objects is taking around 90 minutes to load.

I was hoping if you people can throw some information on this issue, has everyone experienced it or something is wrong with my LW and pc ?

Also, is it because of the memory management of the LW, it seems like LW allocates and disallocates memory for loading every object, as the number of objects increases the memory management starts taking too much time, hence the drastic loading times. Is it true ?

What is the solution of this problem ?

Arun Nager.

I really find it astonishing that an engineer from NT does not reply to this.

ackees dont you have a job or something? :)

arunnager,

One problem you may be running into is that the "MaxObjects"
setting in your LW config file might be set to 1000.
If you open your LW config (LW9.cfg) with a text editor and search
for MaxObjects you will see that it can be changed.
Try increasing it and let me know what happens.
Basically LW will try to load the objects in the scene into RAM and when that space is filled the OS takes over.

No, I suggested the boss get LW and then it was too slow to do the job so he sacked me. I am waiting to prove him wrong.. hint, hint.
