View Full Version : Boolean Problems. Help, anyone?

I'm working on a mesh right now, and attempting to add a spherical-ish object which is one one layer to another object that is on another layer. I've tried various boolean operations, and while they work after a fashion, they don't really merge the two objects, they just stick them on one layer. They don't share any points, and aren't connected. Let me give some pictures so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.

This is before the boolean operation (union, but add seems to have the same effect.)


Here is the result. They aren't merged, per-se, simply in the same layer now.


The small spherical object can be pulled from the rest of the mesh with no effect.


So, my question becomes, is there any way to combine these and have them share points? Anything would be great. I'm stumped. Thanks folks.

Merge points? What specifically is disturbing you so much? LW always worked this way. BTW, It's unwise to use boolean functions on subdivision meshes. LW can't handle the Ngons that might be created and just display holes.
