Hi,

The object sequencer works well for a sequence of lwo files coming from another 3d software. This is a walking man.

1st question :
I'd like to get just a unique lwo file loaded into Layout while keeping the capabilty to have an incremental display of every other original lwo file.
Is there any to convert the few changes between every lwo files into layers, endomorphs, other ... to get this result ? (tips, script or plugin)

2nd question :
I'd like to change the color or the texture in one of my original lwo file (object000.lwo for example).
Is there any way to apply (in a batch process) these changes to every other lwo file ? (tips, script, macro, or plugin)

Thanks a lot :)

from France,
Alain

1) There is Object List which will allow you to display a specific object longer than just one frame. It works based upon a text file.

2) Load all your objects into a scene and use "Edit by Scene" on the surface editor panel.

Thanks a lot, ;)

The second question has now a great solution ! :D

The first one remains a big problem :
I'd like just to keep the first object000.lwo (= the BASE mesh) and then use the next ones for incremental morphing (= like Morph Maps) : object000 morphs into object001 ... that morphs into object002 ... and so on...
The variations between two consecutive objects in an object sequence are so little and relative that I hope there should be a way to convert theses variations into Relative Morph Maps.
Do you know any ways to do that ? (Tips, plugin or script)

Thanks again
:)

Plugins:
http://flay.com/GetDetail.cfm?ID=1236
http://www.daz3d.com/pages/dp/development/developmain.html
http://www.greenbriarstudio.com/3D/index.htm

All found at Flay under endomorph.

I wouldnt use morphs to animate a character.
Take the basic character and add bones to it.
You can then load in each of your objects in your sequence to use a reference to pose the bones.

Thanks a lot for all your help and advice (UnCommonGrafx , SplineGod & Mylenium)

Animating characters in another software, I just whant to render in LW.
My last question is about a tips/trick that could improve the workflow :

I have an lwo object and endomorphs within (using the Scripts above).
Is there any plugin/script/Tips that could automatize the set every Endomorph Slider of the object :
(stages interpolation )
frame001 : endomorph001 set to 100
frame002 : endomorph002 set to 100 (and endomorph001 reset to 0)
...
framexxx : endomorphxxx set to 100 (and endomorphxxx-1 reset to 0)

Is there already a script/plugin that could do this ?

Thanks again :)

Alain

Note : I'm looking for a type of process as ePLA for cinema4D does ( www.cinemax4d.de/epla/home_us.html )

I've not seen this kind of tool. But I think that's because of a little utility we all have called Notepad. ;)

That is to say, set up what you have up to endo or object number 3 then look at your scene file. You can copy paste until your heart is content. Even set it all up in excel based on what you saw in the scene file.

Done.

Someone probably has what you want in a plugin but it's an in-house tool, I'd imagine. They might even write it for you now.

You might want to take a look at object replacement. Now that I've written all that drivel above ;) I seem to remember a read in the manual about being able to do JUST THIS kind of thing. Have a look in the manual.

frame001 : endomorph001 set to 100
frame002 : endomorph002 set to 100 (and endomorph001 reset to 0)
...
framexxx : endomorphxxx set to 100 (and endomorphxxx-1 reset to 0)
[/url] )Couldn't this be done in the Graph Editor with Expressions?

I would use MTSE morphs (multi target single envelope) instead of endomorphs.
Check flay.com and do a search in the plugins area using the keyword "morph". Theres several plugins that can help.

As I understood in the few lines in the LW Manual (LW7 and LW8) about MTSE morphs we have to make the enveloppe by hand.(considering I must render large number of frames, this option should not be good)

Even when having the checkbox 'Mutli Target / Single Env' set on, nothing apppears in the editor when using the frameslider. Do I must manually set every frame with each right amount value in the Morph Amount Enveloppe ?

Thanks again

This plugin might still be available. It can convert a whole directory of objects into MTSE morphs. http://www.greystonefx.com/category-software/greystone-collection/g-multimorph/index.htm

Another thing you might be able to do is use Colin Cohens non linear morph plugin.

I dont know what youre using to animate in but you might be able to get it converted to an .mdd file. An .mdd file is basically like a supermorph sequence which is vertex displacement data saved on a frame by frame basis. Point oven might be a good way to do that. http://www.ef9.com/ef9/PO.htm

Hi and thanks a lot for your help.
Mark has done on my demand an mdd compiler than turns a lwo sequence into just one lwo file and one mdd file too. Wonderful +++

Here is the link:

Mark's lwoSequence2mdd compiler (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=176631&page=2)

Thanks Mark :)
