NewTek is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Jespersen as 3D Project Manager. Jespersen will manage NewTek's 3D engineering team, overseeing the processes involved in product design, development and quality assurance. Jespersen will work closely with the marketing team soliciting feedback and information from NewTek's 3D customers to assist in preparing product plans.

Jespersen combines over 25 years experience in engineering and software development with over 13 years experience as a 3D user and developer. Jespersen's primary background is in the field of Test Engineering in industries ranging from aerospace to cardiac devices. He began using 3D software in the early 90's to render and animate models created for use in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), became a LightWave user in 1997, and later formed a new company, Image Wave, which provided 3D services to agencies specializing in medical device marketing.

Jespersen later founded Irrational Number, which specialized in developing third party plugins for LightWave. NewTek acquired Irrational Numbers' Bone Tools plugins and contracted with Jespersen and his team to join NewTek's 3D engineering team to integrate and advance these tools for LightWave [8]. Jespersen's proven management and development skills, along with his extensive knowledge of LightWave from both a user and programmer perspective provide an excellent combination of attributes for effective 3D development team leadership.

Good to have you onboard. Newtek have really pulled one out of the hat this time. Hopefully it will quell all these stupid threads on cgtalk etc on the fact that LightWave (Our LightWave) is dying. Your appointment proves what we all suspected and hoped that NewTek are really serious about moving LightWave forward, Good to see you,

Good Luck Mate, John

Congrats to Pete - this is a big deal, and means a lot for the future of LightWave.

I hope NewTek does a real, full press release - this is certainly a bigger deal than the H2MW thing that got a P.R. and it deserves some wider press.
