View Full Version : Hard FX & Deformers

I have an object (made up of parts) that is being exploded by Hard FX. I want to add either the Inertia or LazyPoints deformer in addition to that motion. Since the object is not actually moving (Hard FX is controlling it) neither of these plugins work. Also, all of the pieces are in one layer. Does anyone know of a way to have Inertia or LazyPoints affect the Hard FX?

Could you try softfx instead of Inertia? Place it after Hardfx in the dynamics list.

I tried adding the Soft FX after the Hard FX, but the pieces just seem to wobble as a group. Plus, it's still not quite the lag-type effect that Inertia would give you. I tried Cloth FX, which is more like what I'm trying for, but still no luck.

Years ago, when I used to blow stuff up, I used either Sparks or Particle Storm, but they required all the pieces of an object to be saved out individually. It also created paths, which meant that I could add other deformers to the individual pieces.
