View Full Version : Rotating problems, please help

I need to do something like this: http://www.boxel.tv/3d2/launch.avi

The rocket has to move up and to the right, while rotating in its own axis.
I can make it do that, the problem is that when I align the rocket to its path, everything gets messed up.

I know how to constrain it to a path, but when I do the rocket travels along the path but perpendicular to it, is there another easier way to do this?

I haven't played too much with paths yet. But I beleive you can create a null object and have your rocket target the null and or parent the null you should then beable to set the look ahead option. All of this can be set using the motion option control panel, just press m on your keyboard.
If any of this is not correct or there is more to it, I am sure someone else will post a message. Good luck

yeah I've tried that, but when I make the rocket target the null, it automatically rotates my rocket so its side is ponting to the null, I can rotate the rocket back into position but it all gets more complicated when It has to rotate in its own axis.

But thanks for your response
