Hello,

I'm trying to do a rail extrude, but I want the rail/spline to have sharp edges, in my case a hexagon to be used as part of a molecular model. I've tried splitting the curve to sharpen the edges, but it only produces multiple rails which can't be used with the 'align to rail' plugin. I know the workaround about placing additional points close to the existing points to sharpen the curve, but is there a better, more automated way to do this?

any help is appreciated.

If it's a hexigon, maybe just do one side, then a radial Array and merge Points

Thanks for your post riki.

I found a great solution at flay - Pictrix's site has a set of scripts called Tube Tools, I just killed the hexagon poly, selected the points and used the tube tools to extrude an n-sided polygon around the points.
