View Full Version : How can I make my background image show up through a transparent poly?

I am trying to make a simple plane flying across a cloud background. I have simplified the props by making them out of transparent discs. Transparency is working fine when geometry is behind the discs. When only the background image is behind the disc, the render looks as if the transparent disc was rendered on the background color only. Any ideas? How can I make the background image work with transparency?

Turn off raytrace transparency. It doesn't work with backgrounds, just other objects. With it turned off your tranparencies should work fine.
If you need it turned on create a flat plane behind your object and give it the same texture as your background. If you are using skytracer, bake the sky and then you can use that sky as a texture for the object in the background.
