I was capturing a football game and the VT3 Software crashed in the middle of the capture. I now have a 13 gig tmp file that I cannot use.

Does anybody know how to retrieve this file or if this is even possible?

I was capturing DV Type 2 and I have already tried just changing the extension to avi but this doesn't work.

If anyone knows how to reclaim this temp file please share your mighty knowledge.

Thanks

Unfortunately, AVI spec requires an 'end of file' tag, or it becomes unreadable.
That is not the case with RTV, which is "Good to the last frame" ;)

What happens if you select that renamed file in File Bin, and choose to render it out?

I renamed the file as an AVI and tried to do a render of the file in the Filebin but when I went to render the file it would not allow even give me the option.

Does anybody know of any software that "authors" incomplete avi files?

Thanks
