Hello everyone, I'm trying to get into professional video, but on a somewhat limited budget at the moment. I need a miking solution. The equipment and software I use:
Sony TRV-320 Digital Camera
Vegas Video 4
Lightwave 7.5

One thing that I'll need is a way to have a boom mike on a stand, just out of the camera view, of course, and I think it would be best to use a preamp going to the camera's mini mike input. Of course, I would try very low volume level tests at first to make sure how much gain is needed to not damage the camera. Also, would a mike like that also be suitable for close speaking, singing, sound effects, to be dubbed in later? I've gotten by without any extra processing units, like noise reduction. I'm kind of hoping for a mike for under $200 to begin with, if possible, and I see so many on sites that look really good, it's hard to know where to begin.

Thanks, Mike:confused:
