View Full Version : Preview Error: "Bad Movie. Bad!"

I am running Lightwave 7.5 in Panther (10.3.5).

I keyframe a scene and attempt to make a preview.

I get the rather sadistic message : "Bad Movie. Bad!"

And then Lightwave crashes.

Any thoughts?

(I have been running Lightwave on G4 Macs for 3 years with various OS and LW version combinations. I never saw this message using LW 7.5 with Mac 10.2.8)

I was wondering if you ever figured the "Bad movie, Bad!" error message problem out?

I have a student that started getting the same message while trying to preview a scene with a simple pivot rotation, and then Lightwave 7.5 crashes.

Let me know if you were able to solve this one.

Thanks

David

Sure!

The first time you run a preview, Lightwave creates a file called CurrentPreview.mov in the Lightwave/Programs folder.

Subsequent users need write access to that file to pre-view their Previews.

Use the info panel or terminal to give read/write permissions to your specified group of users (or "everyone" as your case may be) for the CurrentPreview.mov file.

Best of Luck!

Bad Movie, Bad!
Woah! Real bad! Maaaaan!
Who writes these error messages?
I get this error message if I ever try to create a preview in Lightwave. What's "bad" is that it seems to be a result of development of Lightwave on a "common code base" for both Windows and OS X. The thing has been ported across without regard to the permissions and hierarchies of a UNIX based operating system (ie, OS X).
