I finally finished a project and here it is!

It is a studio identity piece like the ones placed at the beginnings of movies or the end of TV shows. I did all of the work myself with the exception of recording the sound effects. The modeling and animation were done in LW 8 and rendered out in multiple layers in frames. The logo at the end was animated in Flash and exported as frames with the text done in Photoshop. I then brought all the elements into After Effects and composited them into this.

Please let me know what you think positive and negative (but constructive). This is the first completed piece for my reel.

I like it! But.. I did think that it would be even better with a flame coming out the back of the spaceship.

what viewer do you have for watching avi? You might need to download the divx codec from Divx.com. It's available for both PC and Mac.

I tried some variations of flames but none of the versions looked good.

Okay then, after comments from forums and the client here are some changes. (guess I shouldn't have put it in the "finished" forum yet ;) )

I restored the original laugh track and tried another afterburn effect. I think it does add something but it's not quite right yet so any suggestions are welcome. It's just a painted set of layers composited in in After Effects so it shouldn't be TOO hard to tweak.

Rocket with afterburn! (http://dxyner2000.com/spacehappy/sh16.avi)

Some people asked about my sun on a different forum so for anyone here who is interested it is a volumetric pointlight with an animated texture in sprite mode.

Bring on the comments now.
