I am modeling for a game which is to be cell shaded. I have never modeled a character before and I was wondering how big you have to model a character for a game. Note the models are low poly.

depending on the scene and the 3d engine, could be anywhere from 1,000 to almost 4,000 polys

No how tall would it be. Like what would the lenght be?

The game we`re finishing here is made to real world dimensions: the characters I made were about 5' something and 6' something for the woman and man.

At the very start of the project the project leader gave us all a blank scene with the grid set up in the preferred units, so no one could make a mistake.

That all depends on what the export plugins do to the geometry when you bring it into the engine. This thing has a tendancy to change from engine to engine. If you dont know, I would suggest, trial and error.

allways remember to stick as low as u can, that way you will not have to worry about going over any poly limits, and the game should run on lower specs (i think mine might need outragous specs by the end)
