It's official: Zbrush 2 for Mac OSX will be available September 30th 2004.

If you buy Zbrush 1.5b for Mac before Z2's release you will get a free upgrade and you'll save $90. For those of you who haven't heard Z2 is a complete and very versatile modeling and texturing solution.

I bring this to the Lightwave Mac user's attention because Zbrush1.5 has saved me tons of time texturing hi and low poly models for animation. :D

Perhaps Newtek can use the occasion of Zbrush's release to give us word on whether they intend on giving developers what they need to get 16 bit TIFF import working on the Mac.

A bunch of Zbrush assisted models would look real nice in the Newtek gallery...

Ack! Wait! Now that I've shelled out $399, are you saying there's no way to get the textures/bump/displacement maps back into LW on the Mac????

Whoah, hold your horses partner. Did you check out Steve Warner's Zbrush/ Lightwave tutorial? http://www.stevewarner.com/Tutorial.../zBrushTut.html

I wouldn't recomend the software if it didn't work well with LW on the Mac.

See this thread:

The 8 bit images look pretty good to me but the 16 bit are gorgeous.
