how do i make a walk cycle? i have the character, she's all set up, ik is working and etc. now i have to figure out animation.

do i literally need to key in every frame, or is there a simpler way to create a walk cycle? are there "presets" for animation, like there are for surfaces, to give the basic animations to build on?

i'm using lw 8.

thanks!

Hey Ren,
if you have my Inside LightWave 8 book, there are a number of 3D Garage videos on the included DVD. One of them is a really nice walk cycle tutorial, using IK.

Hope that helps

Here's a genereal tutes area:
http://newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/index.html
And for walking tutes, these two might help:
http://newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/animation/heeltoe/index.html
http://newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/animation/walk/index.html
http://newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/animation/constantwalk/index.html

And, if you go here, Thomas 4D (http://www.thomas4d.info/), there are tools and tutes for animation.

There are many others out there, too. It really goes smoothly after you get the gist of "The fewer the keyframes, the better!!"
