View Full Version : Gravity calculates incorrectly??

I started writing a Layout-Motion Item Animation plugin (known as an IA) and the plugin does some gravity calculations. Trying to make sure I was doing things correctly, I cloned the object and applied the standard gravity plugin to the second object instead of my new plugin. Guess what??

The gravity plugin seems to calculate wrong! :eek:

How do I know? Both objects have a single keyframe for y=10m at frame-0 and I checked the results at time=1s (frame=30).

My "plugin" object had fallen 4.8m - resulting in a position of 5.1m :)
The "gravity plugin" object had fallen 4.588m to a position of 5.412m. :confused:
The math is easy d = g * t * t / 2;
or
d = (9.8 / 2 ) * 1 * 1 = 4.8 --- Hey I can do math and Gravity can't :rolleyes:

Any explainations?
