Hi

I'm now starting to make a showreel for myself and want to add a soundtrack
which is instrumental only, and quite lively, but don't know where to start!

I don't have a massive music selection which is instrumental, and
unfortunately I don't really have the time to do my own. I think probably I
will need to buy one that an artist has already done from a commercial CD,
or maybe even commissioning one - although I'm not sure how expensive that
is. Can anyone give me some advice on this?

Many thanks, Alex

It depends on what you mean by expensive?

My company produces music for this type of thing. We supply ready written tracks that cost around 100 per playable minute or specially commisioned music that will sync with your images for 200 per playable minute. There are also royalties to consider but these costs only become high when you are producing 1000s of copies of the music for distribution (its just pennies per minute, per cd).

There are many music production companies that supply royalty free music,(ie you just pay for the music once and can use it as many times as you like.). If you look around the net you may even find some sites that will supply music free just to get there music played.... obviously you will need to discuss this with any supplier you find..

If you are struggleing to find anything at all, e-mail me and I will see if there is anything I can do to help.

Don't know if this is of any interest to you, but I did this in about 10-15 minutes...

Right click and Save Target As:

I'd be happy to do one for your demo reel. Or you can use this if you want. It's just for fun. Nothing great.
