Hello,

I would like to share my first scripting experiences - so here it is:

Random Select

http://www.flow-m-ocean.de/prog/RandomSelect.jpg

This modeler script selects points or polygons randomly. You can
adjust the amount with a percent value.

Download: RandomSelect.lsc (http://www.flow-m-ocean.de/prog/RandomSelect.lsc)
9 KB

After installing, you find this script under
"Additional/RobZ_RandomSelect"

I hope this is useful... ;) Comments & Critics are welcome.

There are quite a few random select/random deselect scripts out there already, but of course one more is always welcome. Many thanks

... updated to v1.2.

Download under the same link as above

You can now adjust the exact poly/point count.

How about a toggle for select / deselect, so you can also use it to deselect from a current selection.

Why?

Imagine you wanted to random select some of your model, but not all, the user could select the main portion, then run your script and deselect from the current selection.

I suppose you could hide the polys you didn't want selected, run the script, and then unhide.

But just an idea, and it saves an operation.
