Even a bug fix announcement would have been nice. Hope we don't have to wait until NAB for the next update.

It's probably not as small as it sounds. :) It's probably the missing features that should have shipped with 8 but didn't get included by mistake. The render optimizations are probably worth more than a 0.01 but I guess they felt that, since they should have shipped with 8, giving them a higher number might look like they're cheating us.

Newtek really has nothing new and exciting to show?! What have the developers been working on? Just sniffing out the showroom floor for fresh 3rd party plugin meat?

Grrrrr! Armadillo balls!

Maybe, just maybe they wanted to wait until everyone's announcements we're out. Hopefully we'll hear about what is in (Colin Cohen They were demoing 8.0.1.) 8.0.1 and what they've included/modified/fixed/etc...

I would like to see it documented in what changed from 8.0 to 8.0.1 and what bugs were indeed fixed. I'm sure the price drop from a competitor sure shocked many people, not just Newtek.

8.01 is probably their internal developer build. I was hoping to hear anything from newtek. 8 didn't impress me at all, so I was hoping 8.5 would make me upgrade.

Guess not.

Last year the had the specials, this year they ship the software. :)
