We are using Video Toaster 2. I have a 6 minute video & audio clip that I want to compress and place on our server so people can view it using connections ranging from a 28.8 dial-up connection to a 100 kbps connection. We use Windows Media Player.

What are the best codecs to use? Best resolution and audio quality?

In the past, we had the best luck with Intel Indeo v5. 15 frames per second 320x240. Audio mpeg layer 3 16hz/16 bit stereo.

But any guidance would be greatly appreciated

I would use the freeWindows Media Encoder and make a .wmv.
You can include different bit rates in one file and let the
computer on the other end decide which is best.
Does 2 pass vbr encoding also.
