Does anybody know of any way of incorporating parallax mapping into lightwave?

Thanks in advance

Mark

Hey Mark,

I wish I could answer for you, but I'm not sure I understand what Parallax mapping is. Would you be able to describe it?

I assume what is meant is a form of bump mapping. Basically you have a flat surface and a bump map/normal map, which is all standard. What parallax mapping does is make it look as if the furthest bumps are actually behind the closer bumps, even though it's still just a flat surface.

If this is what is meant, then I think the answer is no :(

Maybe he is talking about parralax scrolling. Anyone remember Shadow of the Beast ?

Shadow of the beast! I loved the game series. They had 3 parts, right? I was impressed by the music and graphics back then.

I've never heard about parallax mapping before. I did a little google research and seems that Karmacop is right in his assumption.
