I have 2 objects that share a parent and another object that connects them, i am using motion designer to make the object a rope, but i cant figure out how to give the rope 2 parents so it will swing based on how the other 2 objects move. How can set this up? :confused:

Also, if its in the manual and i missed it, what page is it on? :confused:

I'm not sure exactly what you want.. but if you want to have an object that always stays in the middel of another two objects you can do that with a basic expresion.

Im connecting 2 objects with a rope, the two objects are children of one parent. So i need the ends of the rope to be fixed in position to the 2 objects. Then when one object moves the rope stretches.

Im sorry but i dont know how to use expressions, im really new to this part of lightwave :)

Can you explain how to do this?

am i really reinventing the wheel here or something????

this is what i need set up.

Parent-----> child/parent
.|.............................|
.|.............................|
\/............................\/
child/parent--->Child/slave

heck even this would be fine, but the null would still need 2 parents...

Parent--------------------------------------> child/parent
.|................................................ ....................|
.|................................................ ....................|
\/.................................................. .................\/
child/parent--->parent/child-->Null<--parent/child

OK I think you could use the latest aproach, but instead of the last null being a child make it a goal, so the other two objects always point to it. (just a theory but it should work)
