View Full Version : Is there a hardware to take DVcam direct ot MPeg2

Rather than run a 2 hour dvcam tape to rtv, then use tmpeg to make it a mpeg2....is there a similar good hardward to run svhs or composite to and transfer directly to a mpeg2 file for DVD burning.
Also I have a panasonic dvd burner and I have more compatibility problems with playing on DVD-r players..than when I capture as an rtv, convert thru tmpeg and burn on Ulead. Anyone know the reason...is the tmpeg more sophisticated.
Finally if there is a direct to mpeg hardware card...is it as good as tmpeg or more like the panasonic.
thanks Ken

Check out PCCONNECTION.COM they sell a hardware version that has a USB 2.0 connection and will convert composite and Supervideo to MPEG2 via MPEG2 Hardware Encoder it should be able to convert in real time, not sure though.
