What would be your set up? Just like other apps who has an 'unlimited', or whatever its called, major version...

LW 8 1595
Worleŭs G2 499
Sasquatch 499
FPrime 399
HD Instance 149
NL Realflow 2.5 1490
Thomas 4d Rigging tools 45

Total for LW Ultimate 4676 !

What do you think? Soft/hard BD, SSS, hair, instant preview, instancing, Fluid D, unlimited render nodes, support and great rigging tool!

Optional - Ozone 2, Daz Mimic, Napalm, Messiah, some from Evasion 3D
Missing - Syflex :(

Oops, I forget it, the ideia is that it would be a integrated version, not only plugins. With a better price than buying 'em separated.

What does the price come to with all your optionals?

Based on personal experience, my ultimate setup would have SplineGod (http://www.splinegod.com/) for TD/rigging/problem solving and Dave Jerrard (http://www.celshader.com/dj/gallery/) for TD/lighting/surfacing/rendering/photorealism/particles/problem solving.

:D

On a more serious note...I'll use whatever tools I need that I can afford. FPrime's perfect for previewing lighting/surfacing...but I can't use it for celshading. :( Sasquatch is a fabulous hair/fur package...but I also don't need it for celshading.

The one tool that I do keep tapping for every project is the Flay.com plug-in search engine (http://www.flay.com/getentry.cfm). Any time I catch myself doing mechanical work that could be offloaded onto a computer, I visit Flay. Curve2Plate and C_Bend alone saved me hours of time on different projects and helped make my stuff look much, much better.

Its embarressing that Instances has to be a plugin... And on top of that HD instances isnt compatible with macs...

i have always been a strong opponent of having multiple versions of an app....

i don't want a lw standard and lw ultimate... it is unlikely that i will be able to afford the lw ultimate and if you need the extra plugins that the ultimate would have - if you NEEDED it instead of just WANTING it - that means you're getting paid to do jobs that would enable you to afford it anyway.

lw is the only app currently that combines an affordable price point with a single, unified version.

the day that stops is the day i stop my commitment to lw.

I think LW users prefer the "standard" version, just because its great out of the shelf, and has a great flexibility for whatt you need - celshading is example, its ready with any additional plug!
