My friend and I were having a debate about lightwave 7. He insist that all FULL RENDERING can be done within lightwave with results that look like THIS (http://www.wordware.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/1-55622-285-8-001.jpg) . I insist to get results of that quality, you must use an external program/addon/renderer outside of the Lightwave 7. So please give me the clear answer.

Have a look at the Lightwave gallery-http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/lw-gallery/index.php?cat=2

Lightwave has a great renderer, it could use a speed increase but it is one of the best around for overall quality.

The only FULL RENDERING option Lightwave has got is... Lightwave.
and although Leigh is the Texturing Goddess and her book a must have, this is by far not the best example of the capabilties of the Lightwave renderer.
I gahter from your reluctance to accept how good the Lightwave rendering engine is.....is that you currently use another..uh um...less capable 3D package.

I vote this the silliest post of the year. The book is about texturing (and by extension, rendering) in LightWave. Buy the book if you want to see how these results are accomplished.

If you were remotely familiar with LightWave, you would know that there are no third party renderers for LightWave. F-Prime can be considered a third party renderer, but it is mainly intended for previews and has some rendering limitations. It certainly is "better" than LightWave's renderer, just faster.

You are wrong :p Your friend are right. For me, Lightwave is the excellent rendering. Look at film like Pinic Room, Star Wars Attack of the clones etcs.
