Anyone having problems with the ATI 9000 Pro Driver crashing Modeler when switch between the new display modes (Texture Wire, Sketch, and Hidden Line).

I tweaked the Advance Setting for Open GL and Direct 3D, which works for a moment then Modeler crashes.

Loaded the lastest driver but no joy.

Removed the driver and let Windows install the generic drivers but no joy.

Any suggestions-besides buying a new card?

I started out trying to use an ATI 8500dv.
It took about a week for me to figure out AVI cards and AVI drivers are NOT the way to go.

I don't think there's any argument here that nVidea based cards are your prime choice.

Here's a 'fer instance... http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=323258

It's not as spiffy and as fast as the new $300 to $400 ones. But it will haul the freight with no problem.

Just put in a Raedon 9800 SE, and LW life's been much easier since, manipulation-wise. The only thing that crashes LW for me is that free plug-in (UV Edit Pro?) that we got with LW8. That bugger crashes LW every time. I finally zapped that devil. No more crashes. :)
