View Full Version : Volumetric light rendering

I have a light with volumetrics turned on. The camera anti-aliasing is set to low, and thus rendres the image 5 times.

When rendering this first pass it takes ages to render the volumetric light, then the light-effect dissapeares before it starts on pass two. After finnishing what apears to be the exact same volumetric effect, it dissappears again before starting on pass three, and so on.

And since it takes ages to render volumetrics, the rendertimes goes up ages x 5...

Why not do all the antialiasing renderer passes first, and then render the volumtric lights once at the end?

Mayby I am stupid, and there is a good reason for this, but I can't see the differense on the first volumetric light appearing in the render display, and the final image.

Are there any tricks to avoid this??

No. It was off.
I expect if it is on it would take even longer.
